Tl'etinqox Road Safety Initiative
Summary
This project will install inverse speed bumps and associated signage in high traffic areas of the community. Additionally, we will host community information sessions about driving under the influence in partnership with the RCMP and offer a free ATV safety course for youth.
Project Overview
We have a serious problem with speeding in the Tl'etinqox community. In the past year, there have been one death on a quad, and one serious injury on a motorcyclist racing with a quad. Very few people are confident in walking on the community roads due driving under the influence and speeding from cars, trucks, ATV's, and dirt bikes.
To reduce unnecessary speeding, this project will install road signs and speed bumps in the high traffic areas of the community. The project will also include the hosting of community information sessions around speeding, driving under the influence, and provide all terrain vehicle safety training.
