This project will use the funds to hire a road safety consultant to create a road safety plan around the new school and community hub being built.
At present, the road to the Okanagan Indian Band Preschool and ultimately the New Cultural Immersion School comes off the main road (Westside Road), leading to a cul-de-sac in front of the former building. The access to the new K-7 school will be an extension of this “cul-de-sac”, traveling on, what is presently being described as a “goat trail”.
Vision Zero funding will be used towards hiring a professional consultant to evaluate the existing access route and design a safer roadway to ensure all vulnerable road users are safe.
