Macaulay Heights and One Spot North Parking Hub Project

Summary

This project will involve the construction of a parking hub off of Macaulay Road for vehicles and horse trailers using Macaulay Heights Park and the One Spot North Trail in Black Creek.

Project Overview

Macaulay Road and Area Neighbourhood Association worked with the Comox Valley Regional District Parks department to design, plan and install safer access to the Macaulay Heights and One Spot North Trail parking hub. This improved access allows park users, cyclists, hikers and equestrians to enter into the parking area with improved visibility of on-coming traffic and park safely off of a busy road.

Improved access to parking provides residents and visitors to our community a safer experience when parking their vehicles or otherwise accessing the park rather than turning into a parking area from a blind corner with on-coming traffic. Safer access will reduce the potential of traffic related injuries and fatalities in the neighbourhood. It is now safer for any hikers, cyclists, or equestrians to access the trails or park.
