This project will upgrade the Kingcome Road to encourage healthy outdoor activities.

Kingcome Road is in a state of emergency due to its road condition. Potholes and other roadway hazards have posed significant risk of injury to community members as well as damage to vehicles. While many incidents with roadway hazards result in relatively minor mishaps, two fatal injuries caused by the potholes and rocks have been reported.

Though access to road maintenance funding is available, the scope of work, equipment, and expertise were a great barrier preventing any real efforts to road repairs. Now with the additional funding from Vision Zero, the community can start navigating the bigger picture on how to make Kingcome Road safer for all.
